To avoid tearing the fabric, hold it away from your body when removing the foam insert and replace it after soaking in cold water only (not hot). The outer shell can also be hand washed if needed. Completely dry both outer surface & foam insert before use. Fill the sink with cold water, place the Cool Pad in the water and let it soak for one hour. When you feel that both sides of the Cool Pet Pad are completely soaked, remove it from the sink and put it into a freezer to quickly freeze.
